Meet the Artist Behind Rewind: Jennifer Bouron đ¨
At Sheila May Swim, every print has a storyâand behind every story is an incredible artist. Our latest collection brings two brand new prints to life: Dusk Flora and Scribble Dots. Both are bold, playful, and unmistakably Sheila Mayâand they were dreamed up by none other than Jennifer Bouron, a surface pattern designer based in Paris, France.
Jenniferâs work is full of joy, colour, and a touch of that effortless French charm we canât get enough of. We caught up with her to chat all things inspiration, creative process, and how it feels seeing her art splashed across swimwear.

Tell us a little about yourself! Where are you from, what are your hobbies and passions?
Hi! Iâm Jennifer, a print designer. I come from west of France. When Iâm not drawing, I love to cook, sew or knit, and spend time with my family!
What inspires your artwork? Are there particular themes, places, or memories that influence your designs?
Iâm mostly inspired by nature. There are a lot of flowers in my workâdrawing nature relaxes me. I also love to draw daily life, such as dining tables with a teapot and a nice vase.

Can you share the story behind the artwork featured in your Sheila May Swimwear collaboration?
Sure! There are actually two prints that are very different but represent my work well!
The first one is an abstract dot printâitâs the kind of print that can be combined with a lot of other prints! Itâs fun and modern and could come in so many colours.
The other print is a floral. I actually drew a first version years agoâit had a rougher look. I didnât really like it, so I redrew it, and the result is much nicer.

How did it feel seeing your art come to life on swimwear?
The result is stunning! I absolutely love it!
What message or feeling do you hope people take away when they wear your designs?
I hope wearing my designs will make people happy and feel gorgeous!

What first sparked your love for creating art, and how has your journey as an artist evolved over time?
Itâs hard to say because Iâve always loved creating! As a kid, I had a âcrafty DIY bookâ and I think I did every single project in it! I like trying different techniquesâpainting, embroidery, paper cut collages, ceramics⌠I really enjoy the process of making stuff.

What message would you like to share with aspiring artists who dream of seeing their work on fashion and swimwear?
Donât hesitate to contact brands youâd love to collaborate with! I know it can feel intimidating, but in the worst case, you just get a noâand in the best case, you get a great collaboration!

Whatâs next for you as an artist? Any exciting projects on the horizon?
I have some very nice projects coming later this year and early next year⌠but the most exciting thing right now is that Iâve finally decided to get a proper desk to work onâhaha!
Where else can people find your work or other collaborations youâve worked on?
